Cara and George- A British Wedding

August 14, 2011

Recently back a few weeks ago from a European adventure…

Spent the first half of my trip in the beautiful country outside of London, spending time with Cara and George, documenting their wedding day. Both of their families were so welcoming and the whole wedding was one of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever been able to be a part of. Cara and George were absolutely delightful and one of the most easy going couples I know. We had a blast hanging out all day and shooting. We even got to throw in some lightpainting!  And  I must say, outside of London lies some of the most gorgeous country side. Enjoy some of the highlights:

What Puts the Color into Your World 28:

March 30, 2011

I sat down to write a huge post about what I have been up to the past few weeks now that I’ve finally not been working 18-20 hours a day, and I decided, I had nothing important to report. That’s what so funny about blogs these days…

Tonight I decided to go out and do some shooting…sort of pick up my 30 day creation where I left off being that I actually have the time to complete it now.

Creation # 28 is about perspective:

MRI Lightpainting for Gawker!

September 29, 2010

Thanks to one of our favorite people, Josh, over at y-i-EAT-n (GREAT food blog), we were able to get in good with some of the awesome folks over at Gawker. Just this past weekend, MRI Light Painting did one of our famous Lightpainting Photobooths for a rave thrown by Gawker and Superglued, presented by Diesel. The party was a HUGE success with robots serving drinks and more glow sticks than you could ever imagine. Check out the MRI blog and the Gawker post…and here are some favorites now!

A Very “me” Post

June 23, 2009

The past few days have been a blur. I’ve been working non-stop, assisting for four 13 hour days straight on a beauty shoot for the studio. We are all completely wiped out…BUT the results seem to be paying off. I believe Andrew got some amazing shots and I learned a TON of valuable knowledge about lighting.

As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been hosting quite a few people the past month in my apartment. It’s all been great, but my running schedule and eating habits (uhhh and wallet) definitely suffered. Finally though, I have a night alllllllll to myself tonight! I haven’t been this excited for chill time in a lonnnng time. I’m leaving work early to start my summer shopping for my upcoming Canoe trip in Wisconsin, then off to Yoga To The People for a PAY-WHAT-YOU-WANT yoga class, then buying a goldfish to add to my big flower pot where I’m growing lily pads, home to pick back up on my running schedule, then cooking myself a delicious vegitarian dinner, then cleaning the patui outta my apartment. It sounds like a perfect night to me!

Speaking of my big flower pot where I’m growing, yes, lily pads, my garden has really taken off thanks to all this NY rain! My forget-me-nots have sprouted and are looking precious, however my pansies are really taking over the pot. Thank goodness my mom will be here this weekend, yes my mamma is coming to finally visit me in NYC, to give me some more pointers on how to grow flowers. She’s an expert.

I’m also in the market for a puppy! After a long two years of dealing with the Champion situation, I finally feel ready to get a new dog of my own. I debated back and forth on whether or not I should suck it up and go for the small dog look, even though I’m not a fan, just so I can easily tote him/her around with me…..however, I had to stay true. Big dogs, all day. So I have my heart set on a Saint Bernard or Bernise Mountain dog. I’m still going to try to go through a shelter or pound…I had such a great experience with my last pound puppy. But, please, keep your eyes and ears open for me!

Speaking of pups, this Thursday MRI will be doing yet another PhotoBooth for a Project Pet, which is an organization that searches for REAL no kill shelters and helps fund them. If you’re in the NY area, please come out and support the puppy dogs!

So in my last post, I promised to post some of the shots I’ve been working on.  Here is a promo shot for a new and upcoming play (sorry, no links yet!) called Fringe…

Hawaii and Flashing Lights

March 12, 2009

After a long escape to gorgeous Hawaii from the brutal cold of NYC, I am back and swamped with more photos than I know what to do with! We spent time working on the organic farm, road tripping across two of the Islands, staying in dirty hostels, sleeping on the beach, meditating and catching the waves. I won’t go into anymore detail than that about the trip, but let’s just say, it was life changing, eye opening, relaxing and amazing. The majority of the trip is documented here for those of you who are reallllllly interested…for all the others, I’ll let a few photos do the story telling:

Right when we landed back on the mainland, before we let our bodies get adjusted to East Coast time….we (MRI) shot at a big party called Flashing Lights! We set up a lightpainting photobooth and let all the party people come and take fun photos. It turned out to be a hit! We are planning on returning every month to the party so stay tuned for posts about the next one! If you’d like to see more from the party, check out the flickr!
